Credit report
A credit report is a record of your borrowing and repayment history, held by credit reference agencies and used by lenders to assess you.
Also known as: credit file, credit reports, credit history
It lists your accounts, balances, payment history, searches by lenders, public records such as CCJs and any financial associations. It does not include your salary or savings.
You can get your report free from each agency. Check it for errors, and ask the lender and agency to correct anything wrong.
You can check your credit reports for free, and you should never need to pay for a credit score or report.
